The article is devoted to the problem of the methodology of the studying of social life. It's evident, that modern situation in society demands a new way of its studying. The hermeneutics can possibly become this new way, but there are many questions and problems in describing of social life in such therms as "text", "discourse", "symbol", "theatre" and other. The author tries to demonstrate the positive and negative moments of hermeneutical way of studying.
