Betha-2-adrenergic receptor gene polymorphism and asthma severity

In this report the data of ADRB2 gene Argl6Gly allele frequencies in general and asthmatic population in Moscow are delivered. Glyl6 allele frequency in general population of Moscow (n=112) is 0,66, which is close to mean European findings (0.62). To asses association of asthma seventy and Argl6Gly polymorphism among 30 asthmatics they were divided to four groups regarding GINA criteria and allele frequency distribution was calculated. By using Fisher's exact test with the significance of P=0.009 it was shown Glyl6 allele is more frequently comes with severe forms of bronchial asthma.
