ASSESSMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL AND ECONOMIC EFFICIENCY OF A MODELLED PROJECT FOR GASIFICATION OF BOILER HOUSES IN THE SAKHALIN OBLAST

This paper assesses the environmental and economic benefits of switching Sakhalin Oblast boiler houses from coal to gas. The study employs a modelling approach to estimate the potential CO₂ emission reductions and cash flow generation, taking into account costs and revenues under the new circumstances. The project has investment potential as part of the regional energy transition.
