The article examines the methods of environmental support in the BRICS+ countries through the study of the Sustainable Trade Index rating, consideration of the projects implemented in the energy sector of the BRICS+ countries and the adopted National Programs aimed at improving the environmental situation in the states. BRICS+ countries aim to prioritize economic connectivity, financial stability and investment activities while considering environmental impacts. The Sustainable Trade Index scores Russia, India and China on economic and environmental indicators, showing varying results among countries. Despite the low scores, these three countries are the leaders among the BRICS+ countries in terms of sustainability. Other participating countries were not considered due to lower indicators in comparison with Russia, India and China. In the context of sustainable development, BRICS countries are focusing on climate change, energy, and green projects. Initiatives include reducing greenhouse gas emissions, promoting renewable energy, and investing in low-carbon projects.
