Labor productivity is the most important criterion of economic development. Russia and most of Eastern European countries are to raise labor productivity to become competitive in the world market and to be able to solve social problems. There are different ways to increase it: innovative development, new technologies, effective management and motivation, etc. Much depends on national mentality and national corporate culture. The authors suggest deep research of national mentality as a driving force of economic prosperity.
