Mob justice is and has been a problem that has hounded many African legal cultures, while being a complete derogation from the rule of law. It paints a rather disturbing and worrying picture of a society that indulges in anarchy with impunity and no thoughts as to the consequences of a lawless state. This article analyses the possible reasons and conditions that have allowed this atrocious culture to thrive and possible solutions to address this prevalent problem.
