The human nasopharynx is the habitat of various microflora. The difficulties in identifying particular microorganisms are well-known to ENT specialists. Nasal diphtheria may not have visible signs in a routine examination, often complicating differential diagnosis. The article presents a rare case of nasal diphtheria in 54-years-old patient with an unknown vaccination history, whose disease was diagnosed 2 months after the first visit and despite the received specific treatment by antidiphtheric serum led to fatal outcome. © 2023 Media Sphera Publishing Group.
