Psychology of the influence of short-length visualized content on the attention and cognitive activity of schoolchildren;

Throughout the history of mankind, cognitive systems have regularly undergone various changes due to the invention of certain technological devices and leaps in the development of Homo sapiens: from the creation of primitive tools and the emergence of colloquial speech to writing and arithmetic. 30 yeais ago, a new innovative round took place - the Internet appeared, designed to significantly modify and to transform human thinking. The educational environment, since 2000, has undergone intensive computerization, digitalization and corresponding school reforms. Changes are also found in mental speech activity and human behavior the «digitai generation» has begun to gravitate towards superficial thinking when processing information, characterized by a quick switch of attention. Modern children, in addition to being influenced by the learning environment, are subject to cyber-socialization: they grow up in close contact with social networks and blog culture, with rich emotionally colored visualized content. As a result, the realities of the 2020s were characterized by the fact that it became increas-ingly difficult for people to get acquainted with information through texts with a linear structure, so they began to prefer to watch emotionally expressive interactive content, and the audience now seeks to receive the bulk of the material they are looking for through the digital Internet giace. Nowadays, most of the visualized information that has begun to appeal to consumers is «clipped», it is distributed among users in the form of vertical content (short viral videos, blogs, let's plays, shorts, stories and TikTok), which acts as a tool of mass communication, exerting a certain influence on thinking and regulating the attention, as well as cognitive activity of schoolchildren. Since social networks today have a great influence on public consciousness, some educational material and teaching methods should be combined with the methods and techniques of presenting information used by bloggeis. © 2024 Rossiiskaya Akademiya Obrazovaniya.
