Keratoacanthoma is a rare malignant skin pathology. Having a number of morphological features, keratoacanthoma is a unique malignant neoplasm of epidermal origin. As a rule, externally, it is a formation with clearly delineated sloping edges and a characteristic crater-shaped depression in the center, filled with keratinous masses. Surgical resection is the gold standard treatment for keratoacanthoma, but treatment options for patients with persistent recurrence after surgical treatment are limited. We present the most comprehensive review of the literature on radiation therapy for postoperative and self-treatment of keratoacanthoma. © 2024, Media Sphera Publishing Group. All rights reserved.
