In the digital age, markup languages, in particular HTML, are the basis of almost all Internet resources. This article provides an overview of the fundamental role of such codes in the structure, display, and functioning of Internet sites. The concepts of the structure of an HTML document, the main tags and their purpose, as well as the interaction of HTML with other web technologies are revealed.
