Microsurgical techniques in testis transplantation

The paper deals with the use of microsurgical techniques in transplantation of the testis on an arteriovenous pedicle. The testis was transplanted in 58 patients with androgenic insufficiency; stable favourable results were obtained in 47 individuals. Vascular anastomoses were created by means of a vessel stitlcher (ACII-4). With the use of a forehead magnifier, an operating microscope, special microsurgical instruments, and rational technical manipulations, vessels 1.0 mm in diameter are joined successfully. Rat experiments showed that in stitching ductus deferens by means of interrupted sutures its patency was preserved four times more frequently if endoprosthetics was applied.
