Modern language strives for simplification and generalization due to the current needs of society. With the rapid development of technology, modern people have access to a significantly wider range of information and significantly simpler, as well faster, methods of communication, thus motivating society to simplify the principal mean of communication - language. This article examines the variability of slang used by different social groups during internet communication. In this study, the author attempted to identify the main trends in the use of slang in general modern spoken, written and oral English speech (in particular, in the Internet space), in the corporate sphere, as well as in the information technology field, by researching various social media platforms.
