Semiotic codes of english environmental internet discourse

The paper analyses the various implementations of different semiotic codes of English-language environmental discourse in the context of internet memes. The analysis demonstrates that the predominant code in meme-messages is the media code, which combines written text with illustrations. It has been demonstrated that combinations of media and narrative codes, including the illustration of one of the compositional elements of the story, media and interpretive code, which provides a ‘preferred reading' of the creolised text as a whole, are also regularly implemented.

В докладе на материале интернет-мемов анализируются варианты реализации различных семиотических кодов англоязычного экологического дискурса. Показано, что доминирующим в мем-сообщениях является медийный код, предполагающий сочетание текста и иллюстрации. Установлено, что регулярную реализацию получают также комбинации медийного и нарративного кода, включающего иллюстрацию одного из композиционных элементов истории, медийного и интерпретативного кода, обеспечивающего «предпочтительное прочтение» креолизованного текста в целом.
