This article explores various types of vertical green systems and highlights exemplary models while introducing a new system designed to overcome the limitations of current systems. The proposed design opens up fresh possibilities for environmental benefits and upkeep of Vertical Green Systems (VGS), expands their application range, and boosts the environmental efficiency of the host structure. This innovative design has the capability to elevate VGSs from traditional aesthetic greening to the creation of unique ecosystems, fostering habitats that support a broader variety of plants. This article examines different types of vertical greening systems and presents exemplary models. At the same time, a new system is presented that aims to overcome the limitations of current systems. The proposed design opens up new possibilities for the environmental benefits and maintenance of vertical greening systems (VGS), expanding their scope of application and increasing the environmental efficiency of the supporting structure. This innovative design has the ability to elevate VGS from traditional aesthetic greening to creating unique ecosystems and promoting habitats that support a greater diversity of plants. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
