The article attempts to systematize existing approaches to the problem of the meaning of human life. Within the framework of the well-known division into nihilism, supernaturalism and naturalism, analysis of meaning is carried out, which is illustrated by the thought experiment Save Sisyphus. Existing naturalistic approaches are systematized on several grounds, as a result of which the antinomy of the meaning of life is demonstrated. The authors suggest a way of overcoming this antinomy: if naturalism wants to continue the discussion about the meaning of life, it will require changing the paradigm of the search for the meaning of life to the search for the aim of life. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
