Despite significant advancements in respective treatment, acute myocardial infarction persists as one the most common causes of death in the Russian Federation. Patients surviving a myocardial infarction are at high risk of adverse outcomes. Identifying new markers of unfavorable prognosis is a promising area of research, whereas fragmented QRS, which might reflect electrical myocardial heterogeneity leading to contractile dysfunction, dyssynchrony and arrhythmias, is viewed as one of such markers. The purpose of this review is to analyze currently available data on QRS fragmentation and its prognostic value. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
