A novel synthesis of hexahydroazoninoindoles using activated alkynes in an azepine ring expansion

The manuscript describes a novel and efficient protocol for the synthesis of hexahydroazoninoindoles, based on the tandem cleavage-cyclisation reaction of hexahydroazepinoindoles with activated alkynes. © 2006 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
