Heteroligand Platinum(IV) Complex of Glycine and Arginine

The heteroligand complex of the composition Pt(IV) : Gly : Arg = 1 : 1 : 1 is found in aqueous solution by pH titration; logβ = 18.22. Platinum(IV) complexes, [Pt(Arg)(OH2)2Cl2]Cl2, [Pt(Arg)2(OH2)2]Cl4, and [Pt(Gly)(Arg)Cl4] · 2H2O, are synthesized. The compounds are identified by chemical, crystal-optical, X-ray powder diffraction, and IR spectral analyses.
