WATER RESOURCES MONITORING

The article considers the scope of water use, the concepts of environmental monitoring and monitoring of water bodies, the international approach to monitoring environmental objects, and the objectives of state monitoring of water objects. Also, it dwells on actual problems of water object monitoring, the role of public monitoring of "white spots" in improving the state of environmental monitoring.
