In this article the author analyses the linguistic situation in Colombia overall, on one hand drawing attention to the idiomatic richness of the country and on the other commenting the problems that threaten some languages and cultures of Colombia. Based on this analysis some reflections are made on the necessity that the country has on searching the pluriculturality, i.e. the equality in a political level of the different cultures that cohabit in the country; the author also talks about the role of linguists, anthropologists, and other humanists in the consecution of that equality
