The paper is devoted to the problems of partnership between the state and the education system in the issues of training and retraining of personnel for business and public administration within the framework of the "longlife learning" concept. The experience of continuing professional education, in particular MBA programs and other business educational formats, is analyzed. Particular attention is paid to state programs for the search and promotion of new leaders capable of responding to the challenges facing Russia.
