El presente artículo analiza los principales aspectos que hacen a la temática de las Políticas Públicas en América Latina. En los últimos 30 años la región ha experimentado la práctica de un nuevo paradigma vinculado al manejo del Estado desde la óptica de la eficiencia, la instiucionalidad y la incorporación democrática de otros actores a este proceso. El ciclo de expansión económica actuál ha traido consigo importantes logros como la reducción de la pobreza, producto de la \r\naplicación efectiva de un conjunto de Políticas Sociales. Són las “buenas políticas públicas” suficientes para lograr un mayor bienestar y alcanzar el desarrollo?

This article analyzes the main aspects related to the topic of Public Policies in Latin America. In the past 30 years the region has experienced the practice of a new paradigm linked to the management of the state from the standpoint of efficiency, democratic incorporation instiucionalidad and other stakeholders in this process.The current cycle of economic expansion has brought important achievements such as reducing poverty, due to the effective implementation of a set of social policies. It is "good public policy" sufficient to achieve greater well-being and achieve development?
