Spinor realization of the Einstein program in the Skyrme - Faddeev chiral model

The motivation and fundamental principles as the basis for the 16-spinor realization of the famous Einstein program of “Geometrizing Physics” are studied. The roles of the German physicist Gustav Mie and the outstanding Italian geometrician Francesco Brioschi are discussed, the remarkable Brioschi identity for 8-spinors being the foundation of the Einstein program.
