FRENCH TRANSLATION OF RUSSIAN REALITIES IN THE WORKS OF A.P. CHEKOV

The article is devoted to the study of ways of translating Russian realities in the work of A.P. Chekhov “Men”. The variants of the transfer of Russian realities into French in different translations of the work are considered. Based on the analysis and comparison of two translations of this work, the methods of translating the realities of Russian life of that period into French were identified, more appropriate for the perception of a foreign reader.
