In recent years, the occurrence of so-called extreme weather events, including floods, has increased significantly. In connection with the growing socio-economic consequences of them, the issues of assessing damage from floods come to the fore in order to ensure life safety and sustainable development of territories. One of the promising tools for solving this problem is the assessment of the economic damage caused to the territory. Thus, this article considers the degree of influence of the country's economic development on the scale of the damage caused.
