IMPACT OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF ZHIGULEVSKAYA HYDROPOWER PLANT ON THE VOLGA RIVER WATER LEVEL NEAR SAMARA

The paper presents an analysis of the water level in the area of the city of Samara before and after the construction of the Zhigulevskaya HPP. It is based on a variety of data sources, including mapping data of the Volga River in the area of Samara, photographic materials from different years, measurement data from the Samara gauging station on the Volga River, and summary graphs of measurements from this gauging station over the past four years. It assess the potential risks associated with Volga water level fluctuations in the Samara region.
