HOW ISTANBUL'S TOURISM DEVELOPMENT INFLUENCES THE CITY'S ENVIRONMENTAL STATE

This article examines the impact of tourism activity on the ecology of Istanbul, including air, water, and soil pollution, as well as the impact on the flora and fauna of the region. The main sources of pollution such as industrial plants, road transport, and household waste are analysed. The measures taken by the government and residents to improve the environmental situation in the city are examined.
