CARBON TRADING: WHY SELL AND BUY CO2?

Reducing carbon emissions is a transboundary problem and its solution is a necessary step for global environmental development. The introduction of carbon taxes should incentivize manufacturers to implement and use green technologies and reduce the use of non-renewable natural resources. Such motivation for both companies and the state is positive for the development of energy using natural resources and reduction of CO2 emissions. In order to achieve carbon neutrality in the Russian Federation, a Climate Experiment is being conducted, and Sakhalin is planning to become the first region in the country where greenhouse gas emissions are balanced by their absorption.
