DIGITAL CURRENCY AS THE THIRD STATE OF MONEY. ITS IMPACT ON THE WORLD ECONOMY

This article presents the definition of digital currencies and their mechanism of functioning. The similarities and differences of digital money with cash, electronic money, and cryptocurrencies are highlighted. The impact of digital currencies on the global economy and international relations, including political and economic relations, is analysed. A graph showing the use of digital currency remittances in countries such as: USA, Russia, China from 2017-2022. Based on the results of the study, conclusions have been formed indicating the need for more research as well as improvement of the conducted developments in order to study their impact in the global economy.
