LEXICAL PECULIARITIES OF PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS IN MODERN RUSSIAN NEWS TEXTS

The article considers a defi nite range of semantic and stylistic features of news texts in Russia. Some changes in the language of news texts observed at present are described. The role of metaphors and phraseological units in news texts is shown. The article notes a suffi ciently rare use of phraseological units in news texts, most of all in quotations and headlines where their functional-stylistic and emotional-expressive meanings are enormous.
