RUSSIAN - SOUTH AFRICAN RELATIONS

In the wake of recent political changes between Russia and the West there has been a revival of bilateral relations between Russia and South Africa. In order to understand the context of this resurgence of mutual interest, this paper seeks to investigate the history of Russia-South Africa relations. This paper comprises a literature survey of relevant documents pertaining to the history and evolution of Russian-South African relations. From the role Russia played in South Africa's struggle for independence to the countries' political and economic cooperation within the BRICS framework.
