THE DRAINING OF THE ARAL SEA

The draining of the Aral Sea is one of the main problems of the global environment. The consequences of this disaster are significant: reduction of water quality, deterioration in people`s health, climate changes, soil salinization. Once the Aral took the fourth place in size among the lakes in the world. Now it turns into a small pond. Human activity is the major reason of the Aral Sea draining. Mindless withholding water from the Syrdarya and Amurdarya led to a large decrease in water level of the Aral Sea.
