В статье рассматривается положение бывших офицеров и генералов царской армии, продолживших свою службу в Красной Армии, анализируются мотивы, которые привели военную интеллигенцию в РККА. Отдельно прослеживается судьба военных специалистов, отслуживших определённое время в белогвардейских частях.

the article examines the status of the former officers and generals of the old Imperial Army who continued their service in the Red Army; emphasizes motives (reasons) which lead military intellectuals in the Red Army. Separately it observes the fate of the military specialists who had served for a certain time in the White Guard units.
