Mass media today are an important driving force that helps progress in the system of all civil and political institutions, ensures transparency and openness of reforms carried out in the state. The global information space provides guarantees for diverse progress, healthy competition, pluralism of opinions, preservation of cultural diversity and national identity. But at the same time, the rapid development of all types of media has raised the issue of morality in the journalistic environment. In the context of globalization and the transition to an information society, this range of issues comes to the fore. A journalist is a creator of media products. Their job is to find, process and publish material. Despite freedom of speech, they cannot always publish the material they want. There is a special journalistic ethics to regulate their publications, and there may be some problems in observing it. This article will examine the problems of observing journalistic ethics in the media of Tajikistan. The article presents the main responsibilities of journalists under the Code of Journalistic Ethics. It presents the means of protecting journalists from the Tajik authorities, as well as, conversely, infringements of their rights and prohibitions aimed at their activities. Some solutions to these problems are presented. The corresponding conclusions on this topic are made.
