Global Challenges of Our Time and Answers to Them Based on Sustainable Development of the Digital Economy

Digital technology has been widely adopted in economic and social activities. As a result, it profoundly changes the production and lifestyle in today’s society. Simultaneously, the digital economy brings a new set of benefits, reducing the differences between rich and developing countries. The paper aims to identify the global challenges of our time and respond to them based on the sustainable development of the digital economy. The research is exploratory in nature and uses economic-statistical analysis and theoretical and practical research results to answer the global challenges. The research has shown that surface temperature, climate change, unemployment, and food and water issues are rising globally. At the same time, education has significantly improved in the last century. However, inequality between genders in specific parts of the world has emerged. Digital technology will help address the global challenges of our time in the future.
