The purpose of this article is to analyze the problems of game localization, examine their occurrence and consider specific case studies. Computer games have long become popular around the world; however, localization remains a significant issue. In order to attract more customers gaming companies translate their games - this process, however, is fraught with potential errors, including grammatical, factual and semantic inaccuracies. Such translation difficulties can lead to misunderstanding of the game's narrative or themes among players. Nowadays, more and more videogame makers are resorting to automated or AI-assisted translation, which can cause the meaning of the text in the translated language to differ from the original.
