ПОДГОТОВКА И ХАРАКТЕРИСТИКА ТРОТУАРНОЙ ПЛИТКИ ИЗ ПОЛИЭТИЛЕНОВЫХ ПЛАСТИКОВЫХ ОТХОДОВ И НАТУРАЛЬНОГО ВОЛОКНА

Plastic Waste and Natural Fiber in Paving Blocks The accumulation of plastic waste poses severe environmental and health risks, particularly in developing countries where improper disposal methods like open burning and landfilling are common. To address this, researchers have explored recycling plastic waste into construction materials, such as paving blocks. These blocks, used in sidewalks, roads, and parking areas, offer durability, low maintenance, and aesthetic appeal. Studies demonstrate that plastic-based paving blocks, particularly those using low-density polyethylene (LDPE), exhibit high compressive strength and low water absorption compared to traditional cement blocks. A mix ratio of 1:4 (plastic to aggregate) yields optimal strength. Additionally, incorporating natural fibers (e.g., spear grass straw) further enhances mechanical properties. However, limited research exists on microstructural behavior and long-term performance. This study evaluates plastic-fiber composite blocks for compressive strength, water absorption, and thermal resistance using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The findings suggest that plastic paving blocks are an ecofriendly, cost-effective alternative to cement-based products, reducing both construction costs and environmental pollution.
