The effect of rotary swaging (RS) on the microstructure, mechanical properties, corrosion resistance and biocompatibility in vitro and in vivo of the Zn-1Mg-0.1Mn (wt%) alloy was studied in this work. A structure with α-Zn grains elongated along the deformation direction and spherical particles of the eutectic phase are formed in the Zn-1Mg-0.1Mn alloy after RS. RS also leads to the formation of an ultrafine-grained structure with a grain size of less than 1 μm and the precipitation of MnZn
