Objective of the study is to analyze the level of physical activity of the workingage population as an indicator of the effectiveness of state programs to involve the population in systematic physical activity. Methods and structure of the study. The analytical study was conducted based on the officially published materials of the statistical reporting "Information on those systematically engaged in physical education and sports for 2024 (form No. 1-FK)" and "Information on the implementation of the All-Russian physical education and sports complex "Ready for Labor and Defense" (VFSK GTO) for 2024 (form No. 2-GTO)". The analysis of statistical data was carried out using the grouping method and the mathematical and graphic method of processing and presenting analytical materials, correlation analysis. Results and conclusions. The indicator of the level of physical fitness of the population, formed in the course of systematic physical activity classes, is the number of those who received the GTO badge. An analysis of statistical reporting data for 2024 showed that only 7.8% of the working-age population systematically engaged in physical education and sports demonstrated social activity, expressing their willingness to determine their level of physical fitness for compliance with the state requirements of the GTO complex. This indicates an insufficient degree of involvement of the adult population in the implementation of state programs on physical education and sports, including the implementation of the GTO complex, weak promotion of an active lifestyle, the absence (or inadequacy) of conditions for physical exercise at the workplace. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
