This article provides an architectural analysis of renowned museums worldwide and a review of museum classification. Since the typology of museums is essential in museology, the purpose of this study is to demonstrate the wide range of museum types, structures and ideas, as they have evolved. The first part will reveal the different types of museums classification, while the subsequent part will explore the museum architecture features, including their functionality and design concepts. This will involve the categorical method, systematic approach, and structural analysis to establish different typologies of museums and illustrate the evolutionary philosophy of museum development. The findings indicate that architects strive to diffuse their creations with a high level of expressiveness, sharing some distinctive features, and drawing on a holistic understanding of museums as an architectural piece of art.
