Genderlect as a linguistic and cultural phenomenon: Issues of communication competence study [La perspectiva de género como fenómeno lingüístico y cultural: Cuestiones de estudio de la competencia comunicativa]

Issues related to the sociocultural phenomenon reflecting the features of male and female speech – gender dialect or genderlect – are discussed. It is shown that men and women often use different communicative styles, both in verbal communication and in network communications, which makes it possible to consider genderlect as a relevant linguistic cultural phenomenon. A comparative analysis of linguistic gender manifestations in network communications of Francophones from Quebec, Maghreb and French society is carried out. © 2018, Universidad del Zulia.
