Travelingsteplike contrast structures

Singularly perturbed parabolic equations with cubic nonlinearities and their solutions called steplike traveling contrast structures (CSs) are considered. The method of boundary functions is applied to construct formal zeroth-order asymptotics in the noncritical case and first-order asymptotics in the critical case. Some relevant theorems are proved.
