This paper points out some of the cultural and communicative features in the Russian society, and through the expression of compliment in\r\nthe Russian language it’s going to describe and analyze the Russian language forms of compliments, which include repetition and formulaic expressions that speakers of other languages might perceive it as “insincere” or “overdone friendliness”. It also deals with some social and discourse functions of expressing compliments in the Russian language.
