Continuing the idea that the phraseology reflects the mentality of the people and its cognitive picture of the world, the author conducts a comparative study of Russian and Persian proverbs with the meaning “Poverty” and “Wealth”. According to the author, by comparing proverbs, one can get acquainted with the customs and facts of the history of two cultures, learn how to understand folk wisdom, and join universal moral values.
