The Internet of Things is a new stage in the development of the Internet, greatly expanding the possibilities for collecting, analyzing and sharing data. This paper explores the new innovative technology of the Internet of Things, the narrowband-IoT technology, which is rising as a solution to the multiple challenges of current mobile technologies. Specifically we consider a coverage area of a base station to which sensors in that area send data through NBIoT technology. We build a model of sensors and base station interactions as a queueing system and analytically assess some performance metrics such as message loss probability, message waiting delay, sensor's energy consumption and sensor's lifetime.
